Lee graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in 1994. She worked in the Whatcom County Public Defenders Office for 13 years, where she received invaluable training and experience with all types of criminal cases.
Lee has won many jury trials during her years of practice, including not guilty verdicts on charges of DUI, Vehicular Homicide, Domestic Assault, Child Molestation and Felony Assault (stabbing). She has also been able to successfully negotiate dismissals of many charges, including sex offenses and domestic assaults.
In our criminal justice system, many cases end up in a plea bargain. To get a good plea bargain, an attorney must work hard to point out the legal issues in the case, and the equities in the client’s situation. An attorney must also have a strong reputation with the prosecutor – the prosecutor must know that the attorney is ready and able to take a case to trial and win. Lee understands that it is your decision whether to plead guilty and will help you to intelligently make that decision.
Lee is a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where she has served on the CLE committee, providing training to other criminal defense lawyers around the state.
Lee has been successfully handling bankruptcy cases for over ten years. She has represented hundreds of clients seeking bankruptcy protection, in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. She has also successfully argued for student loan discharge in the bankruptcy court.
No two cases are the same. Lee’s deep knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy law enables her to find solutions to each client’s unique financial problem. Lee’s focus is on helping her clients to understand the bankruptcy process and how it can improve their financial situation.
